And can you tell me please what to do with the following.......Uscis sent me too an envelope where to put my documents for RFE.......but the docs dont fit in the small envelope...is it ok if I put my docs in a different and bigger envelope?
My PD is sept 2005 ROW.
If someone faced the same situation please help me with some advice.
Thanks in advance

Interesting findings in the USCIS Ombudsman report - 2007.
http://www.aila.org/content/fileviewer.aspx?docid=22650&linkid=162321
From the report:
Employment-Based (EB) Green Card Applications
(Annual Report pp. 32-37)
In FY 06, over 10,000 visas were lost because of slow processing of EB cases, even though USCIS had an estimated 100,000 to 150,000 pending applications for employment-based green cards. As of May 2007, the
State Department estimated that 40,000 EB visas may be lost in FY 07 if USCIS does not increase the
processing rate for green card applications. The Ombudsman attributes the slow rate of adjudications to inaccurate statistics and inefficient USCIS management of its workload. The problem will become significant in the coming fiscal year if there is a dramatic increase in EB green card applications, and a significant backlog is likely to develop if this problem goes unaddressed.

Can multiple people together file mandamus?
how about signing a petition and send it to Ombudusman?
In last conference call when some one asked about illogical order of processing
she asked him to file DHS 2007 with her office.
how about about 100+ people filing same DHS 2007? and tell her , illogical processing order is root of many many problems at USCIS.
just my 2 cents....

Hi,
I would like to know that can I apply for EAD extension for me and my wife since my I-140 application was denined last year. We have already appeal for decision on I-140 application to AAO office. I am intend to get my wife's EAD extended by year end.
Thanks for your time reading this thread.
Is your 485 also denied? Most of the times when ever 140 is denied then the underlying 485 also gets denied and if that is the case then you cannot apply or extend for EAD or AP until your appeal is pending with AAO. I may be wrong so consult an attorney.
BTW....did you consult the attorney? If yes, what did they tell you?

I work in a semiconductor company and got laid off last week. My company informed me that they will inform INS to cancel my H1B in May. I plan to go back to school and change my status to F1. My question is, to do a change of status from H1 to F1, will they ask my recent pay stubs? Please reply
Thanks!
Thanks!

I just talked to my lawyer again, and he told me that Im overreacting! He kept saying that this is not a big deal at all for having the wrong background on the petition letter submitted to USCIS. He said that the new petition letter, I-129 and documents do not need to be resubmitted to USCIS. My lawyer also said that he can simply solve the problem by sending me the new petition letter. Accordingly, I can then bring this new letter to the consular for the visa interview instead of going through the resubmission. He also said that there is nothing to be worry about PIMS or anything. Could you please advise what to do? Pls help. Thank you very much.

The system is definately broken. Most ads are joke. It is sad to think that my 1st LC (12/2001) in NY was stuck because of these. Thanks.
