    Agree. I bought a better beamer just for that. I've only used it a few times with mixed results. Definitely worth the practice to get it right.

    Jason, here's an old photoshop tutorial (http://www.dphoto.us/forum/showthread.php?t=2245) that will either confuse you or help you similar effects to the processed photos above. It will either confuse you more, or make it easier! Once you understand some of the principals, it won't take you hours at all. Good Luck! :D

    Just came accross this site. Not sure how accurate the data is, but looks like so far from 2002 there are only 701413 total pending 485 cases. I guess majority of those would be non employment based. Any one seen this data? Is this accurate?

    IV seems to have a lot of folks here on a h1b with a non profit organization. My wife is currently doing her residency in a non profit organization on a h1b so basically she is not subject to the cap.
    After she finishes, and she looks for jobs, is it possible to get a h1b transfer in a profit organization without being subject to cap? Or H1b transfer is possible only with an non profit organization.

    Any inputs will be well appreciated.

    Rahul,

    I assume you are planning on working in Canada using visitor visa. This is not legal and if you want to do it anyway, immigration authorities would question your intent of travel every monday to friday, when you have a valid H-1B work permit in USA. I don't think you will get by this.
    My cousin had a similar experience he worked in Canada for two months on visitor visa, Immigration authorities were tough on him when he was on his way back to USA, asking him how come he had such a big vacation in a calendar year and also various other tough questions.
    My advice is to apply for work permit in Canada through your existing companies branches in Canada and then work in Canada as you have suggested.

    Please don't follow my advice blindly, contact your Attorney and look at all the legal ramifications and then decide about your future course of action.

    I am working for Company A on a full time basis on H1B and part-time with Company B(non-profit) on a concurrent H1B. I filed for my GC with Company A and I-140 is approved and applied for I-485 and got EAD/AP also.

    My H1B with Company B is expiring and the 6 year term will end on December 31, 2009. I am planning to apply for H1B extension for this H1B and the company attorney says I can get it extended based on Company A I-140 because it is a concurrent H1B. How far is this true? Can I extend my Company B H1B based on the approval on Company A H1B?

    Hi :
    I had applied for H1 when from india apil 2007, and in may 2007 i entered US on H4. My h1 got approved in aug 2007 asking me to get the stamping done from india. My consultant applied for H1 amendment on sep 21 2007. Its 8 weeks now, still not got any reply from INS.

    1. I would like to know,how long does it generally take for h1 B amendment process.

    2. Since the amendment is taking a long, can i go to mexico and re-enter

    Sorry to post this here, but i did not know other means of trying to find out about them.
    A google search of them brings very bad reviews of them, where employees have posted never join them. But it is hard to know if it was posted by people who just hate them or if they are genuine employees.

    Please either pm me if you are not interested to reply.

    My new employer doesn't sponsors/transfers H1B visa. And my priority date is Dec 04 EB3 so I don't think that I would be getting my GC in near future!

    As per the job I know this one is the safest since the new employer has never ever laid off employees in its entire history. So, I'm not worried about the job security, only thing which scares me is that if there is some problem in my I-485 and I get a denial whether I would be able to switch back to H1B?

    Worst case scenario my wife has a valid H1B and I can switch to H4 and probably wind up the things here :-)

    Today my lawyer sent me my receipt numbers for 485, EAD and AP. when I enter my AP receipt number to check online status I see the following...

    Application Type: OS155A, IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION

    Current Status: Card production ordered.

    On August 30, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

    Anyone know what this means... It doesn't say I-131 in application type..

    Second disturbing thing I noticed when I entered my 485 number...

    Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

    Current Status: Fingerprint fee rejected and notice mailed; case in suspense.

    On August 23, 2007, we rejected your fingerprint fee and mailed you instructions for how to submit the necessary payment. This case is now in suspense. Please submit your payment with our notice as soon as possible after you receive our notice so we may resume processing of this case.

    My lawyer says the checks have been cashed and we have proof of this.. She says it can be a typo..
    Most weird part is for my EAD it says card has been ordered.. but I haven't even done finger prints and my 485 is in suspense..

    Anyone any idea whats happening.. should I be worried about OS155A and 485 things..

    Big goof up on AP document, my spouses document had my alien number. Thankfully, they recognized it as a USCIS mistake and let her in. She had to wait 3 hours for processing, they also took both AP forms and set up and appointment at USCIS office in SF.

    I have to go to SF tomorrow. Couple of qns that some one may be able to answer
    1) What should i expect tomorrow?
    2) When im there can i ask them any question regarding the status of my case?

    On a separate note, i heard from a friend that AP is getting approved in 15 days now. Is that a one off case?
